This area is a mountain wilderness home to bears, wolves, and herds of bison and elk, so have your camera handy. You’ll focus on the northern loop of the park today, passing by the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Norris Geyser Basin is home to Yellowstone’s oldest and hottest geysers – so get ready to see geothermal wonders, wildlife hotspots and sweeping landscapes. You have three full days to explore Yellowstone, so you can take your time at all the sights and fully immerse yourself in America’s first national park.

Then, get up close to the rainbow-hued waters of the Grand Prismatic Spring – one of Yellowstone's many geothermal highlights. Along the way, look out for abundant wildlife, including birds, moose and black bears as you travel through forests, meadows and along lakeshores – you never know what you might spot around the next bend.

Yellowstone is a huge park, and we’ll cover a lot of ground during our exploration. We’ll spend approximately 9 to 10 hours in the park today with around 4 of those hours in the vehicle. Throughout the day, we’ll make several stops for short walks and hikes on a variety of terrain, ranging from easy to moderate difficulty. The distance and duration of these hikes will depend on the group’s interest, but you can expect to be on your feet for a few hours in total.
Wake up extra early to spend your last morning in Yellowstone in a way most visitors never do – wolf tracking. Join a naturalist wildlife guide on an adventure in a quieter, off-the-beaten-path section of the park to track down the wolves that roam these remote corners. This is an ideal place to look for the elusive wolves, as well as spot other wildlife. High-power binoculars will be provided, so you have the best shot at glimpsing these iconic Yellowstone predators in their natural habitat. You’ll start off with a drive to Lamar Valley, where sightings are most likely. Walk around with the wildlife guide, hear their stories and continue driving to other spots for more chances of spotting a pack or two. If your group would like to do some extra light hiking, you can stretch your legs while learning about the local wildlife. After, check out the geothermal area of Mammoth Hot Springs before heading back to the hotel. Take some time this afternoon to rest and recharge then head out for a farewell dinner at a local restaurant with your group.

Due to the very early start and remote locations visited, we recommend you pack snacks to carry with you during the Wolf Tracking experience. We’ll spend roughly 9 to 10 hours in the park today, of which you can expect about 4 hours in the vehicle.
This morning after breakfast, take a scenic drive back to Jackson. Watch the Idaho scenery pass you by as you follow the western edge of the Tetons and then cross the Snake River in Wyoming. You’ll arrive in Jackson at about 3 pm this afternoon, where you trip will come to an end. If you’d like to extend your stay, just speak to your booking agent.
